These terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator and users in connection with the use of "Global News Explorers" (the "Service").
2. What the Service provides
- Easy-to-read world news explored via a globe (animals & nature, science & invention, world friends, and more)
- Read-aloud (text-to-speech) for stories, with plain-language explanations for tricky words
- Reading rewards (country stamps & badges) and a world passport
- External links to original articles (opened after a simple confirmation step)
The Service is provided free of charge, with no sign-up or separate payment process. It contains no ads or external tracking technologies.
3. Effect & changes to these terms
These terms take effect when posted within the Service. The operator may amend the terms where necessary within the bounds of applicable law, and will announce any changes via this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes constitutes agreement to the amended terms.
4. User obligations
- Comply with applicable laws, these terms, and any notices.
- Do not interfere with the Service's operation (reverse engineering, automated access, generating abnormal load, etc.).
- Moving to external sites such as original articles requires a simple confirmation step; minors are encouraged to have a guardian's guidance.
5. Content & external links
The news the Service provides is a summary reworked to be easy for anyone to read; original articles can be viewed by moving to external sites. The operator is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or policies of external sites.
6. Privacy
Handling of personal data in the Service follows the separate Privacy Policy. The Service collects no member information, and records you create such as stamps and badges are stored on your device.
7. Changes & suspension of the Service
The operator may change or suspend part or all of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, no separate compensation is provided for changes to or suspension of a free service.
8. Disclaimer
- The operator is not liable where the Service is interrupted or data is lost for reasons not attributable to the operator, such as force majeure, communication failures, or device malfunction.
- The operator is not liable for damages arising from information obtained through the Service or external links.
- The operator is not responsible for recovering data after a user deletes on-device data or removes the app.
9. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a dispute between the operator and a user regarding use of the Service, both parties will first seek to resolve it through consultation; failing that, a suit may be filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act.
